Ever since I was a child, I had a fascination and passion
for art. I can’t even
remember a time when I wasn’t drawing. It was the third grade when an
art teacher noticed my young developing talent. His encouragement impelled
me to continue drawing.
I graduated from Liberty High School, located in Bedford Virginia, in
2000. It was during my freshman year at college that I began to explore
portraiture. I never took an art class in college but instead took it
upon myself to learn and improve. I was drawn to portraiture because I
loved the challenge of capturing unique personalities and endless expressions.
Portraits are very hard to draw, leaving little room for mistakes. This
challenge made it even more intriguing. Not only was I discovering that
I had a passion for portraits, but other people began to take notice of
my talent as well. Many people began offering to PAY me to draw their
loved ones! I found this to be very interesting. I soon realized that
my drawings were not just “refrigerator art”. This realization sparked
a huge change, and a huge dream.
After my sophomore year at college I decided to take the risk and pursue
my dream of becoming a professional portrait artist. I have been drawing
portraits professionally for seven years now. I specialize in charcoal
portraits of people and pets, but also draw homes, cars, buildings and
practically anything else.
I can not express how much I love drawing. But even above that, I love
the look on a clients face when I deliver a portrait. The smiles, hugs,
and tears, and knowing that I created something that will be cherished
for a lifetime is the true payoff.
Each portrait is hand drawn with charcoal on high quality bristol paper
and is ready for framing. Two separate photographs can even be put together
to create a very customized look. Reproductions and personalized greeting
cards are also available using your original charcoal portrait.
You can also have your favorite celebrity or sports star drawn for a one
of a kind collectable!!
